Football Saturday

It's a Saturday in the south! That means SEC football for me. This is my absolute favorite time of the year. When the leaves start to change color and fall, the Pumpkin Spice Lattes come out, the weather is cool enough to wear sweaters, I can break out my boots, and I can spend my Saturdays cheering on my Dawgs. There's just nothing else like it. Who are you pulling for today?

Food for Thought

I'm the type of person who wants to please everyone. Well, I used to be that type of person. It's great to be a nice person who is always reliable and who everyone else counts on to always say yes to pretty much anything. That is, it's great until always saying yes becomes a burden and starts to negatively impact you. If being the reliable person ends up dragging you down and being detrimental to your health, it's not worth it! If you're afraid to say no to your friends then they aren't the types of friends you need to surround yourself with. It's okay to say NO! There comes a point where you have to start putting your needs in front of everyone else's. Don't be a doormat! No one needs that kind of negativity in their life. Instead of trying to please everyone, take your own needs and wants into consideration first. It's not selfish. It's self-care and it's important. There will never be another you, so make sure you take care of yourself...

Tough Days

Image
Some of you might know this, but most of you probably don't. For the past several years I have suffered from anxiety. If you've never had this problem, I pray you never do. It is often unbearable, suffocating, miserable. I wouldn't wish it on anyone. My biggest thing is social anxiety. I have the hardest time making friends and opening up to anyone can be extremely difficult for me. I sometimes even have a tough time talking to my very best friend and I'm so blessed that she understands me completely and knows that sometimes I just need some time to myself. It may seem super cheesy and cliche, but this little bundle of joy has made even my darkest days seem a little bit brighter. Most days he's a pain, but when I wake up in the morning and when I get home from work his precious little face greets me at the top of the stairs and lifts my mood just like that. Anxiety is an awful feeling that can consume my every waking thought if I let it. It's important to find s...

Pet Peeves!

Here are some of my biggest pet peeves. I have much more, but these are the top ones. What are some of your pet peeves? 1. People who don't use their blinkers. Seriously, it's really simple! 2. Cops who ride your butt and try to push you to speed. I don't speed anyway, but I certainly wouldn't with a cop right behind me. 3. Arriving late to anything 4. People who don't believe in personal space 5. Terrible grammar 6. People who play music or watch videos on their phone without headphones (in public) 7. Traffic 8. Solicitors who knock on doors that clearly have "no soliciting" signs on the door 9. People who constantly stare at other people 10. Tangled headphones

Monday Blues

Image
The dreaded Monday. The end of the weekend and back to work or school. I'm sure we've all said it before: "I hate Mondays." I'm not a fan of Mondays either, but they can be a chance to restart. A chance to let go of the battles from the week before and start fresh. You've got a whole week ahead of you! Just imagine the amazing things you can accomplish if you view this day as a starting point. I have to admit that the past few days have been kind of rough for me. I've been a little down in the dumps, for no particular reason really. Sometimes, I just have those days when everything is overwhelming and it's hard for me to find motivation for even the most simple things. But, you know what? That's okay. I gave myself the weekend to be in a blah kind of mood and now I'm ready to start my week fresh. I've got some great ideas to help build my LipSense business and I'm excited to get started on them. I'm determined to make this week bett...

Bucket List

Up until recently, I hadn't given much thought to the things I want to do in my life. Most people say they have a bucket list, but they don't actively think about it or work on crossing those things off. I have decided to share my bucket list with all of you and keep you up to date as I work through it! So, without further ado, here are the things I have on my list so far: 1. Float in the Dead Sea 2. Sunday Funday

Image
Well, I have had quite an adventurous week! Wednesday we went to White Water and you probably wouldn't even believe what all happened that day, so I'll just give you the highlights. On the way there, my cousin threw up her chicken nuggets in my car. Also, the crazy drivers in the Atlanta area just about gave me a heart attack. As we were leaving the park, my mom was pushed down the stairs and spilled her ice cream. She didn't put ice on her ankle when she got home like I told her to, so her ankle was hurting and a little swollen a few days later. Then, on Friday I got my first tattoo! I really wasn't that nervous about it until it was almost time for my appointment. I was just nervous that it wouldn't turn out like I wanted it to, but it's perfect and I love it! Today I went to the Tennessee Aquarium with my stepdad's side of the family. It was fun, but I was kind of disappointed that there weren't any dolphins. Oh well, we had a great time. Aft...

Sleeping Thoughts

Image
Let's talk about dreams. This topic has been on my mind a lot lately for several different reasons. The main reason being I hardly ever remember my dreams, good or bad, but that hasn't been the case in the last few months. I keep having this recurring dream about being back in high school. I know most of us have had dreams about high school before, but this is one of the strangest dreams I've ever had. It always starts the same, with me walking into my old high school and worrying about getting to class on time or missing a class completely. The strange thing is I know I've done this all before and I really don't need to be there. It doesn't matter if I'm late to class, if I fail a test, do the homework, miss a whole week of school. I have already done all this before, graduated with honors, and moved on. So, why is my dream self so stressed out, knowing this is all totally unnecessary? A few of you will probably say that it's because I'm taking a...

Sunday Unwind

Image
Happy Sunday! Now that you've gotten to know me a little better, we can get down to the good stuff! Well, maybe not the good stuff quite yet. I don't know about you guys, but my past week was pretty uneventful. I did get to spend a few hours at the pool on the fourth and I got burnt, which is pretty much always a guarantee for me when the sun is involved. Anyway, I've been working on refurbishing this old window here and there. I'm still not entirely sure what I want to do with it. I have about a gazillion ideas saved on Pinterest, but I haven't set my heart on one yet. If you have any cool ideas, let me know! I've also been trying to work on this puzzle when I have the chance. I kind of have a love/hate relationship with puzzles. This one has been really frustrating, so I can only work on it in little spurts. Otherwise, I'm sure my brain might explode. Today I met up with a friend at Starbucks to talk about her jewelry and my makeup. I mean, what m...
